History & Background

Developed by Valve Corporation. The complete source code (core SDK and all integration plug-ins) was open-sourced under Apache 2.0 with the v4.5.2 release; previously the core SDK was closed-source while the integration plug-ins were already open. Source code is hosted at github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-audio.
