IRCAM
IRCAM Spat is a real-time spatial audio library for the Max environment, providing more than 300 modules for source localization, multichannel panning, Ambisonic encoding and decoding, binaural rendering, and artificial reverberation. It is used in concerts, post-production, virtual and augmented reality, sound installations, and acoustic research contexts.

History & Background
Developed since 1991 by IRCAM's Acoustic and Cognitive Spaces team in collaboration with Espaces Nouveaux. Distributed via the IRCAM Forum subscription model. The current Spat 5 series runs as a package inside Cycling '74 Max/MSP and supports HOA, VBAP, DBAP, WFS, and binaural techniques.
