Harpex-X
Harpex Ltd
Harpex-X is a commercial plug-in implementing the Harpex parametric upmixing algorithm, which uses time-frequency analysis to estimate the directions of sound components in first-order Ambisonic and tetrahedral microphone-array recordings and resynthesises them as higher-order Ambisonic, surround, binaural, or stereo output. It is used for spatial enhancement of B-format and AmbiX recordings in post-production, VR/AR, and 360-degree video workflows.

History & Background
Developed by Harpex Ltd (Norway). Originally released as Harpex-B for B-format input only, renamed Harpex-X when input support was extended to AmbiX, double MS, and tetrahedral microphone arrays (Sennheiser Ambeo, SoundField SPS-200/NT-SF1, Core Sound TetraMic, Zoom H3-VR). The Harpex algorithm is also licensed to Blue Ripple Sound for the O3A Harpex Upsampler.
