Envelop for Live
Envelop
Envelop for Live (E4L) is an open-source toolkit of free Max-for-Live devices for 3rd-order Ambisonic spatial-audio composition and performance inside Ableton Live. Includes the E4L Master Bus (decoder), E4L Source Panner (encoder), AuraVerb, and a custom-decoder system, plus integration with EnvelopLX for synchronised LED-lighting via ADM-OSC. Built on the ICST Ambisonics Tools, HISSTools Impulse Response Toolbox, and CNMAT odot externals.

History & Background
Maintained by Envelop, a non-profit organisation that operates immersive listening spaces in San Francisco and beyond. Core E4L architecture by Mark Slee, Roddy Lindsay, and Rama Gottfried. Released under GPLv2 (the re-usable bus components in the bus and live sub-directories are LGPLv2). Requires Ableton Live Suite (10, 11, or 12) and Max for Live; Live 12 is supported in the latest major release.
