The Auro-3D Authoring Tools are a plug-in suite for authoring, mixing, and encoding immersive audio content in the Auro-3D and AuroMax formats. They provide the Auro-Panner, Auro-Bus, Auro-Mixing Engine, Auro-Matic Pro upmixer, and Auro-Codec encoder, used for native 3D audio production for cinema, music, broadcast, and Blu-ray release.
History & Background
The Auro-3D format was developed by Wilfried Van Baelen at Galaxy Studios (Mol, Belgium) starting in 2005; Auro Technologies was co-founded in 2010 by Wilfried and Guy Van Baelen with partner Alfred Schefenacker. The brand is now held by G O E R D Y N A M I C S BV. Distributed via a flexible licensing model: monitoring and uncompressed mix authoring are free, with rent-to-own export modules.
