The book examines the impact of digitization on music, including new notation, storage and transmission formats and the creation of new sounds in the recording studio. It is divided into two parts: The first part deals with analog sound synthesis and control, the second part with digital sound generation and the use of hardware and software in composition and sound editing from the early days to the present day.
